Welcome to Earth Environmental and Planetary Sciences (EEPS) at Rice University!
The first week of June starts 10 weeks of the NSF sponsored research experience at EEPS for seven undergraduates hailing from universities around the country. The REU is managed by Dr. Carrie Masiello, with faculty mentors Dr. Jonathan Ajo-Franklin, Dr. Alan Levander, Dr. Fenglin Niu, Dr. Richard Gordon, Dr. Rajdeep Dasgupta and Dr. Mark Torres who will facilitate student research topics ranging from the deep Earth to past and present climate change. While most of the research will take place in the Keith Wiess Geological Laboratories building, students will have field excursions around the Houston area as well as full week in Minturn, Colorado.
