Welcome to the third year of the Planetary Habitability over Space and Time REU, hosted by Earth Environmental and Planetary Sciences (EEPS) at Rice University!
The end of May starts 10 weeks of the NSF sponsored research experience at EEPS for seven undergraduates hailing from universities around the country. The REU is managed by Dr. Carrie Masiello, with faculty mentors Dr. Mark Torres, Dr. Alan Levander, Dr. Fenglin Niu, Dr. Carrie Masiello, Dr. Kirsten Siebach and graduate student mentors who will facilitate student research topics ranging from exploring other worlds in our solar system to the microscopic world we walk on. While most of the research will take place in the Keith Wiess Geological Laboratories building, students will have field excursions around the Houston area as well as full week in Minturn, Colorado.
We are so happy to host these bright minds and hope that they will have a wonderful summer!
